Parking lot sale inventory is a joke
Main Post:
I know it's been said at least once before, but it's ridiculous to have these sales when they sell out on day one and clearly have no plans to re-stock. It also seems like they're doing this with other sales like the icon flush cut pliers.

Question: Open box/as-is discounts during parking lot sales - how do those work?
Main Post:
Hi, during a parking lot sale, the fliers typically say something like "up to 70% off open box items, in store and in stock only!" Of course, this is clearly labeled as a part of the parking lot sale, indicating that only applied during the special sale.
How do those "parking lot sale" open box item discounts actually work? I'm always hearing about people finding deals during that time, but I don't see how.
In my local store, they will charge me the same price as always, on all orange and purple tags. No tags are updated, and no signs or messaging is added in store. So I finally asked the staff, twice. "Hey, is there an additional discount on these purple or orange tagged items (on the discount table)?" The reply one time was "oh, the discount is already applied on the tags." However, everything I recognized on the table was still marked at the same price it had been for the past several weeks. The second time, I showed them the flier, and asked about it. I just got shrugs, and a non-committal "Not unless they are marked as discounted, I guess." I didn't want to be the stereotypical "Karen," demanding to speak with the manager, so I just let it go. Any ideas?
Thank you!

At my local HF (several nearby actually) you get 20% additional off Friday, 30% Saturday, and 40% Sunday. Last Sunday I got a predator 9000 open box generator for $300. Last time before that I got one of those really big fans for I think $45.
Edit - made more clear to read

Am I the only one noticing a lot of the black friday deals are not worth it?
Main Post:
I’ve found maybe one or two good black Friday deals this year, but most of the products I find are just cheap or the sale itself isn’t that good of a deal.
I’m quite picky with what I buy, I’m a quality over quantity type of gal myself. The stuff I want isn’t even on sale.
Top Comment: Black Friday was only really a thing before internet shopping really took off. It brought people into stores. Now stores can have random sales on their website all year long.
A lot of adhd symptoms sound like things everyone deals with. What differentiates adhd from normal human struggles?
Main Post:
I’m trying to be more receptive to the struggle of adhd because my gf talks about how it makes doing everything so hard, and unfortunately I was raised in an environment that’s very dismissive of neurodiversity, and I still have some of that ingrained in me; this is me trying to actively improve in that area.
It’s very difficult though because my girlfriend will describe the challenges she experiences because of adhd, and a lot of them make me think “I experience that too. everyone experiences that.” She talks about not being able to do things she’s not motivated to do. There’s a lot of things I have to do that I don’t want to do; but I know wanting to do it isn’t a prerequisite for starting. I know often just doing the first step will create momentum for rest of the process.
She talks about not being able to finish books she’s not super enthralled by. I have the same issue, so I set a timer for 15 minutes and put my phone into another room and just read until it goes off.
She talks about struggling exercising because she doesn’t “want to”. Most people who exercise don’t want to exercise. It’s not that everyone else has a reserve of motivation to do all these unpleasant things; it’s that they don’t frame it in that way.
She talks about how forgetful she is. So am I. It’s why I use timers and alarms and todo lists and all of these tools to help me, because I know my brain can’t be trusted by itself.
Things like this. I experience the things she talks about. So does everyone else.
Is there more to this? I’m having a hard time getting it all to click, and I’m really trying to understand.

Symptoms are indicators, not the illness. If you look at my brain scans you'll see different activity than someone without ADHD. but that brain activity manifests in my forgetfulness, attention span, and shaking legs.

“Speaking at a London press conference, Elba said “the cycle of the [first-look] deal has now gone through” but he could continue working with the streamer.
“First-look deals are a lot of kicking tyres,” he added. “You are trying to figure out what you can do together. Quite honestly, working with George and the others took a good two-and-a-half years really and you can’t top that, not at this junction. Who knows what comes next but I’m very proud of the fruits of this deal.”
Is Black Friday still on Fridays? A lot doing all week?
Main Post:
Just wondering if I should actually wait until Friday? For example, Amazon is the entire week
Top Comment: Black Friday died like 10 years ago. Some people are late to get the memo. Now it's month and week long sales online.

Which websites give the cheapest prices?
Top Comment:
I fly almost every month for work or for pleasure so I'll give you the free tips I give my friends:
Timing - Fare sales often come out Tuesdays and Wednesdays so check prices on those days to buy. Do it 3 weeks before departure for domestic and 5 weeks for international if you can.
Matrix ITA - Hands down the best way to get the cheapest fare and see almost all your options (damn Southwest). You can't buy tickets here, but you will get your city pair fare construction to help you book tickets. Sometimes these won't work on a website (kayak, Delta, etc) and you have to call the airline directly (when still worth the phone booking fee). Use the nearby airport feature along with calendar view to get the best prices. Google around for more instructions and advanced code information.
Yapta - Nifty website that allows you search for flights, track prices daily, send alerts when price drops, and also get you a refund in some cases when your ticket price drops. Use this as early as possible and you will be amazed how much pricing can change day to day.
Airline Rules - Understand Contract of Carriage and Rule 240. Almost all US airlines allow you to cancel any ticket for full refund up to 24 hours after booking. Also, know your rights for flight delays and alternate airline bookings during delays. Most people don't know or take advantage of this if/when there is a non-weather delay.
